Jacqueline Velez
Registered Architect
Founder and Principal
As long as she can remember, Jacqueline always wanted to be an architect. She was fascinated by the concept of designing a space, building a model, and transforming those ideas into reality. This inspired her to pursue an architectural degree from New York Institute of Technology.
She worked as a draftsperson and later on as a designer at architectural studios in NYC, where she learned and mastered how to prepare contract documents. Additionally, she became versed in the NYC Building Code and Zoning Resolution.
In the summer of 1992, she established JMV Associates, LLC, a building code, zoning consulting and expediting firm, serving both the public and private sectors.
Subsequently, Jacqueline became a Registered Architect in New York and New Jersey, and founded JMV Architect, PLLC. As an architect, she strives to create spaces that enhance the quality of life of users and visitors, by integrating sustainability and embracing innovation.

Jacqueline Velez and her spouse, Tarek M. Zeid, Principal of
Tarek M. Zeid, P.E., PLLC, provide architectural, structural engineering, and expediting services as an interdisciplinary team.
As former NYC Department of Buildings Borough Commissioner for Brooklyn and Staten Island, Tarek is an expert in building codes and zoning regulations.
Creative Designers
Our creative team is a group of innovative designers who possess problem-solving and detail-oriented skills to gather information and visualize the client’s needs to bring their project to fruition.
Each project is a collaborative process between the designers, sub-consultants, clients and contractors. Through the design, construction, and closeout phases, the team initiates frequent meetings to keep the stakeholder’s apprised of their project’s progress to ensure that key milestones are met. The result of this collaborative process leads to a sustainable project that reflects the client’s vision while also improving the environment.
We successfully complete each project with diligence, by embracing new materials and techniques. To enhance our knowledge and skills, we continuously participate in professional development events.
